Poland didn’t have to settle for second best in the men’s 4x100m however as they registered a time of 39.35 to stave off the challenge of second-placed Dominican Republic and surprise package Sri Lanka, who claimed bronze.

As for the women’s equivalent, Brazil proved too strong for the competition, crossing the line in 43.87 with Russia following 0.33 seconds later.
