A packed crowd attended the second edition of Argentina’s Paralympic Day which took placed at Luna Park, in the country’s capital Buenos Aires.

With the 2014 edition of the Paralympic Day proving to be a success with 2,500 spectators attending to watch live Para-sport, the Argentine Paralympic Committee’s (COPAR) were aiming to build upon its success as they look to grow the annual event.

Having spectated last year, attendees to the free event were given the opportunity to take part in the sports including judo, which featured several able-bodied athletes.

Fencing, wheelchair basketball, five-a-side football, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis were among the sports featured on the day, representing an increase on the number showcased at the first staging of the event.

COPAR believe the event is set to grow further in future years with the organisation aiming to attract more participants and stakeholders, while they claim the second edition drew over one thousand additional people.

The organisation hope to use the national Paralympic Day to attract new athletes to sports and further build the Paralympic Movement in the country.

Several celebrities were among those present at the event which also saw COPAR present EXPA awards to a number of their Para-athletes, with the honours recognising their excellence in their chosen sport.

As well as the sport taking place at the venue, live music also took place throughout the day with a live band bringing proceedings to a close.
