Photo-zones are being used by organisers of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in a bid to promote the Games to ice-hockey fans while helping to grow the sport in Asia.

The zones feature models of ice hockey players with Pyeongchang branding and have been put in position at the homes of South Korean teams who play in the Asia League Ice Hockey (AL), at Goyan, Incheon and Anyang.

Supporters are able to have their photos taken next to the figures.

Teams from Japan, China and Russia also play in the AL with the 2015-16 season, which began on August 30, due to last until April 2016.

Pyeongchang 2018 spokesman Sung Baik-you said: "We will endeavor to grow public interest and encourage participation in ice hockey, the centrepiece of winter sports, and expand the enthusiasm to the Olympic Winter Games in 2018."

South Korea's national team will make their Olympic ice hockey debut in 2018 after being awarded a host nation berth.

As well as promoting the Games and the sport, organisers will also use links with AL to run the rule over venues, facilities and operations.
