South Korea’s Im Dong Hyun secured two gold medals at the final event of the 2015 Archery World Cup season in Medellin, Colombia, but the world number one was denied a hat-trick, losing in the men’s individual final.

The two-time Olympic champion joined team-mates Lee Woo Seuk and Shin Jae Hun in the men’s team recurve final with their clash with the United States being a re-match of the London 2012 Olympic semi-final.

On that occasion, the American team had triumphed but the South Korean team gained revenge as they won each head-to-head tie in straight sets to secure a comprehensive 6-0 victory.

China overcame the hosts Colombia 5-1 to claim the bronze medal.

Hyun then joined forces with Lee Tuk Young in the mixed team event, where they booked their place in the gold medal contest, overcoming Japan’s Kaori Kawanaka and Takaharu Furukawa 5-3 in their semi-final, which also proved the final score in China’s battle with Chinese Taipei.

The Chinese pairing of Jiaxin Wu and Yu Xing got off to a bad start in their final as they quickly found themselves 2-0 down and were unable to turn the tide as Hyun and Young sealed a 5-1 win to secure South Korea's and Hyun’s second gold of the day.

Japan bounced back from their semi-final loss, winning their bronze medal 5-3 against Chinese Taipei team.

A third gold for South Korea’s Hyun looked on the cards after the 29-year-old topped the qualification in the men’s individual competition, before progressing through the rounds and booking his place in the final with a 6-2 victory over The Netherlands’ Rick van der Ven.

His challenge faltered  at the final hurdle as China’s Yu Xing won 6-4 to claim gold, while Van der Ven thrashed compatriot Mitch Dielemans 6-0 to win bronze.

South Korea, though, would not have to wait long for their third gold medal of the day as their archers Sunam Hong and Lee Tuk Young met in the women’s individual final, with the former claiming a 6-2 win.

An all-Chinese Taipei bronze medal clash saw Le Chien-Ying beat Ya-Ting Tan 6-4 and the pairing then joined forces with Hsiung Mei-Chien to reach the women’s team final, where they faced South Korea.

The Chinese Taipei team battled back from 2-0 down to earn a 5-3 win.

America beat Mexico in a shoot-off for bronze after the tie had ended level.
