The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee (SF&OC) of Hong Kong has held its annual Summer Youth Leadership Camp on Olympism at Tai Tam Scout Centre.

Under the leadership of elite athletes, a total of 45 secondary school students took part in sports exercises, team-building activities, and seminars across two days to understand the importance of Olympism and team spirit.

The core Olympic values of “excellence, friendship and respect” as well as leadership skills were developed among the students nominated from 18 participating schools of the School Education on Olympism Programme (SEOP).

SEOP provides substantial information for schools and community organisations, and offers a diversified community programme to allow its members to understand the importance of sports, and encourage the public to learn about Olympism and the development of Hong Kong sport.

Officiating guests at the Opening Ceremony included Tong Wai Lun, vice-president of the SF&OC of Hong Kong and Olympic House Management Committee member, and Vincent Chiu, the Home Affairs Bureau’s chief executive of recreation and sport.

Chiu was joined by Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, President of the SF&OC of Hong Kong, at the Closing Ceremony.

Fok delivered a speech before a certificate presentation was conducted in appreciation of each participating student and the involvement of the athletes.

Also in attendance was Frank Fu, chairman of the Hong Kong Olympic Academy, and Julian Chang, a member of the Hong Kong Olympic Academy.
