The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has thanked its Media Committee members for their "hard work and contributions" during the 2011-2015 Olympic cycle at a meeting in Macau.

Representing the OCA, financial director Nayaf Sraj said the Committee had played a major role in the ever-changing world of news gathering and distribution.

Chaired by Charles Lo, President of the Macau Olympic Committee, the meeting brought together members from the Maldives, Japan, Mongolia, Iran, Sri Lanka and Malaysia as well as local Government and National Olympic Committee (NOC) sports dignitaries José Tavares and Alex Vong.

Presentations were heard from JTA managing director Séverine Hubert on a brand-building and communications partnership with OCA, and from Committee member Hiroshi Takeuchi, press attaché of the Japanese Olympic Committee on the media operations at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, last year.

Other topics included updates on the OCA magazine Sporting Asia, the OCA website, the Youth Reporter Project, social media, and media participation trends and broadcasting at the 2014 Asian Games.

Lo thanked the Macau Government for supporting the OCA meeting and said the proposals would be finalised and forwarded to the OCA Executive Board.
