Rio 2016 has approved CoSport as the Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced.

The British public can now request tickets to see the approximately 350-strong Team GB in action at the Games, scheduled to take place next year from August 5 to 21.

CoSport will welcome fans to Rio de Janeiro through individual tickets while hotel and ticket packages are soon to be offered exclusively through its website, including a wide range of event ticket options, three or four star accommodation, daily breakfast, and support from the CoSport team and local hosts.

In order to secure individual tickets in the initial request phase, British residents are invited to submit a non-binding request by 2pm BST on May 4.

All ticket requests successfully submitted within the request phase will be considered irrespective of when they are submitted.

CoSport will confirm which of the requested tickets will be offered for purchase by May 11.

Payment must be processed for the confirmed individual tickets wanted no later than 2pm BST on May 15.

Thereafter, the next opportunity to purchase tickets will be as part of a live sales process on a first come, first served basis starting 10am BST on May 19.

“For our athletes and fans alike, there are few experiences more exhilarating than being part of competition on the world stage,” said BOA chief executive Bill Sweeney.

“Together with CoSport, we are excited to extend an invitation to Team GB fans from around the world to once again share in the Olympic journey and experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the Rio 2016 Olympics.”

CoSport recommends that purchasers take time to clearly understand the event schedule, venue locations, their budget, and other factors before submitting a request as once the request phase closes, no changes to ticket requests will be permitted.

“CoSport has a deep knowledge of Brazil and is preparing to welcome Team GB fans with an exciting variety of individual ticket and package options,” said Robert Long, President of CoSport.

“Our hotel and tickets packages especially simplify attending the Rio 2016 Olympic Games so our guests can focus on enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“There will be plenty of opportunities to choose from once sales open, but the best packages will surely go fast.”
