Seven delegates were present at the latest EOC Environment and Sport for All Commission in Ireland ©EOCThe Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) have hosted the European Olympic Committees' (EOC) Environment and Sport for All Commission, aimed at continuing the development of sport across Europe.

The meeting, held at the OCI offices in Howth, was attended by seven delegates from the region and was chaired by the Commission's President William O'Brien, who is also a senior vice-president of the OCI.

Poland's Andrez Krasnicki, who is an EOC Executive Committee member, Stavri Bello of Albania, Ukraine's Inga Babakova, Vladimir Bogoevski of Macedonia, Polish athlete representative Luiza Zlotkowska and Germany's Kahrin Fehres were all in attendance, with the meeting inspired largely by the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Agenda 2020 reforms.

Among the topics discussed were the sustainable development and environment protection at EOC-sanctioned sports events, such as the European Games, which takes place for the first time this year in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, as well as the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) and Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE).

The delegates also discussed cooperation with the European Union and made a plan of action based on the recommendation of the previous Commission meeting.

EOC President Patrick Hickey, who is also the OCI President, then attended a dinner in the Irish capital of Dublin following the Commission.

The Environment and Sport for All Commission is one of eight similar bodies that have been set up by the EOC in order to help the association in the future.

The EOC announced the respective chairmen of the Commissions in August of last year, and the Olympic Games Commission is chaired by Belarusian George Katulin, while the Marketing and Communication Commission is led by Austria's Peter Mennel.

Victor Sanchez of Spain was tasked with chairing the EYOF Commission, Neinar Seli heads up the EU Commission and Finland's Susanna Rahkamo is chair of the Olympic Culture and Legacy Commission.

The Medical and Anti-doping Commission is chaired by Klaus Steinbach of Germany and Lithuania's Daina Gudzineviciute leads the Gender Equality in Sport Commission.
