Hosts Canada were aiming for a fourth win in five matches at the tournament, having suffered a defeat to Brazil on Tuesday (March 23), but they came up second best in their encounter a US team boasting a 100 per cent record at the event.

The Americans got off to a fast start by racing into an 18-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and their strength in depth throughout the team told throughout the match.

Brazil triumphed in the battle of the South American nations, with Luciano Silva top scoring for the third consecutive match, earning his team 18 points.

Gelson Silva Junior added a further 15 points to help Brazil secure their second win of the tournament 71-53, while Argentina leave Canada without a victory to their credit.

The teams are likely to meet again at the Toronto 2015 Parapan Am Games, due to begin on August 7, with the top two finishes at the tournament set to book places at Rio 2016.
