The new agreement, announced here at SPORTELAmerica, will see the Bell Media owned English and French language channels providing multi-court coverage of the Grand Slam event.

TSN and RDS, which also hold the exclusive Canadian broadcast rights of the other Grand Slam tennis events - the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open - will air the Roland Garros men's and women's singles from the tournament's early rounds, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

"The French Tennis Federation is thrilled to extend the agreement with our historical broadcast partner in Canada until 2024," said Michel Grach, media and sponsorship director of the French Tennis Federation.

"Bell Media has committed to significantly increase the amount of tournament coverage to more than 360 hours on TSN and RDS platforms.

"The French Tennis Federation is proud to announce that all 16 competition courts will be produced for the first time this year, which will represent a great additional content opportunity for TSN and RDS."

The deal builds on the longstanding relationship with the broadcasters, with TSN having televised the French Open since the network launched in 1984.

Last year it achieved the highest ever audience for a non-finals match from Roland Garros, with 536,000 people tuning in to watch Canadian star Eugenie Bouchard's semi-final match against Russia's Maria Sharapova.

TSN said more than 1.5 million unique viewers tuned in at some point during the match.

"The legendary French Open clay courts of Roland Garros have shaped some of the most remarkable moments in tennis, including wonderful performances by Genie Bouchard and Milos Raonic last year," said Stewart Johnston, President of TSN.

"We couldn't be happier to continue our long-term partnership with the French Tennis Federation to give Canadian tennis fans more multi-court coverage of the French Open than ever before across our five national feeds."

This year's French Open in Paris is due to take place between May 19 and June 7.
