Košir, fresh from claiming his first overall parallel giant slalom World Cup title yesterday, continued his excellent form this season, by winning the gold medal race.

"I was very motivated in Japan, just like at the Olympics," he said after his victory.

"It's the promised land for me now."

American Justin Reiter secured his best World Cup finish, taking silver behind Košir, while Italy's Mirko Felicetti won the bronze medal race against Rok Flander of Slovenia.

"Today was a blast," Reiter said.

"I have always wanted to podium in Japan and I am very happy to have accomplished that."

In the women's event Zogg earned her maiden World Cup title as she was able to overcome Austria's World Cup leader Sabine Schöffmann in final.

"I already had some good qualifier runs, and in the finals it got better with every heat," Zogg said.

"It was fun today, we had some great duels, and it was very exciting."

The podium was completed in Japan by Ester Ledecká of the Czech Republic after she saw off Julia Dujmovits of Austria in the bronze medal race.
