Swiss-based sports marketing company Infront Sports & Media has appointed Sven Biner as director of its sports services unit.
Biner, who is joining from his position as Adidas' senior asset manager for global sports marketing, will be responsible for Infront's comprehensive and well-established sports services portfolio, including broadcaster servicing, live advertising solutions, sponsorship and hospitality services.
He is due to assume his new role on April 1.
The 38-year-old is currently in charge of managing and developing Adidas' partnership with Bayern Munich, and for driving the internal LED and digital overlay task force.
He has previously worked for UEFA Euro 2008 and 2012 in hospitality services management, as well as Octagon, the world's largest sponsorship consulting practice, as head of sales and sponsoring, and as product manager of both sportswear retailer Intersport and sports equipment manufacturer Salomon.
Reporting to Uwe Ploch, a member of Infront's extended management team. Biner takes over from Thomas Lessenich, who is focusing on his new position as managing director of Infront's joint venture with Qatari firm Aspire Katara Investment.
AspireInfront will provide sports marketing services for Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council, under the banner "creating value for domestic sport".
Infront is the most respected sports marketing company in the world, managing a comprehensive portfolio of top properties.
Led by President and chief executive Philippe Blatter, Infront covers all aspects of successful sporting events, including distribution of media rights, sponsorship, media production and event operation, and has won a reputation for its high standards of delivery.
