The free app, available globally for iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets, provides competition schedules, results, standings, match statistics, live scores, videos, photos, and information about teams and players, and integrates the official CEV social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

"This app helps us make another step forward in delivering information on our competitions and other activities both to our current fans and to potential new fans among the general public, with this goal being achieved by implementing a series of user-friendly, easy-to-navigate and intuitive features," said CEV President André Meyer.

The CEV joined the world of social media in October, before adding to its media portfolio with a YouTube channel the following month ahead of the ongoing 2014-2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League season.

The channel features "Stars in Motion" videos, highlighting the best action from CEV competitions, and a variety of other volleyball and beach volleyball videos.

The CEV developed the app in close partnership with Austria's LAOLA1 Multimedia GmbH, whose managing director Rainer Geier said: "We are happy that we continue to expand our long-term cooperation with the European Volleyball Confederation.

"This confirms and further cements our multimedia expertise and our long-term strategy.

"At the same time, the development and the launch of the official CEV app represent a great boost of motivation for our team.

"The app provides users with an optimised design to enjoy a clear overview of the latest and most important information that fans are looking for, such as live scores, statistics and highlight videos.
