In one of the final tests ahead of the World Championships, due to begin in Panorama, Canada, on February 28, three reigning Paralympic champions were among the winners on a day of six giant slalom competitions.

First, Canada's Mac Marcoux and guide Robin Femy edged Slovakia's Jakub Krako with a time of 1min 53.97sec in the visually impaired event, with Russia's Valerii Redkozubov, a regular on the World Cup podium in recent times, down in third.

There was a second victory of the week for Great Britain's Millie Knight in the equivalent women's competition, while in the standing category France's arie Bochet made amends for her shock defeat yesterday to German standing class rival Andrea Rothfuss with a clinical victory.

She won in 1:55.92, four seconds ahead of Rothfuss, with Inga Medvedeva of Russia taking the bronze medal.

There was German success elsewhere in St. Moritz, however, as Anna Schaffelhuber became the third Sochi 2014 champion to continue a winning streak by triumphing in the sitting event.

She managed the two quickest runs of the day, finishing ahead of Austria's giant slalom world champion Claudia Loesch.

Action is due to contine ue in St. Moritz tomorrow and Thursday (5 February) with slalom races.

The Europa Cup Finals will then take place in Sella Nevea, Italy, from February 16 to 18 before the NorAm Cup, the final pre-World Championship test, takes place in Kimberley, Canada from February 23 to 26.
