Public broadcasters RTVE in Spain, ERR in Estonia, Latvian-based LTV and Slovenian broadcaster RTV Slovenija, as well as Portuguese subscription station Sport TV, will all provide extensive coverage of the Games, due to begin in the Azerbaijani capital on June 12 and last until June 28.

RTVE will screen the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and they will also run a series of "Road to Baku" programmes in the build-up to the event.

Sport TV meanwhile will cover the European Games on a dedicated 24-hour news channel, which will be broadcast both in Portugal and in Mozambique and Angola.

"I'm very happy to announce that Baku 2015 has signed broadcast agreements with five more leading networks from across Europe, bringing our running total of announced countries to 47 worldwide," Simon Clegg, chief operating officer of Baku 2015 said.

"It is important that as many people as possible are able to share in the inaugural edition of the European Games this summer.

"With 130 days to go until the Opening Ceremony, these new deals are a great step in achieving that aim."

Baku 2015 have already signed numerous broadcasting deals to ensure the Games reach as much of the world as possible.

In January, Sky Italia became the latest broadcaster to reach an agreement with Baku 2015, while President of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) Patrick Hickey has said a deal with BT Sport, who have emerged as Sky Sports' main rival in Great Britain, is "very close".

Outside of Europe, Baku 2015 have an impressive list of stations who will cover the Games as China Central Television added Baku 2015 to its Olympic portfolio, and a deal signed with Arab States Broadcasting Union will see the first-ever European Games screened across 20 countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

"These agreements will bring the inaugural European Games to tens of millions of viewers across Europe and beyond," Baku 2015 commercial director Charlie Wijeratna added.

"All of these broadcasters are Olympic rights holders for Rio 2016, and bring with them a wealth of experience in broadcasting major sports events.

"A key part of Baku 2015's commercial offering has been our ability to secure broadcast agreements, and I'm delighted that we're continuing to deliver on this objective.

"This announcement shows that we are continuing to raise the profile of the event across the continent."

More than 6,000 athletes are expected descend on Baku for the European Games, with competitors taking part in 16 Olympic and four non-Olympic sports.
