Bibian Mentel-Spee is one of four riders to maintain her 100 per cent record in the the head-to-head format of the IPC Alpine Skiing Para-Snowboarding World Cup ©Getty ImagesFour Para-snowboarders have maintained their 100 per cent records in the sport's new head-to-head format as day one of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Alpine Skiing Para-Snowboard World Cup comes to a close in Big White, Canada.

Dutch Paralympic champion Bibian Mentel-Spee continued where she left off in Aspen as she collected gold in the women's SB-LL2 category, beating Heidi Jo Duce of the United States to the top prize.

Her team mate and protégé Lisa Bunschoten came home third.

France's Cecile Hernandez-Cervellon doubled her gold medal count in the new format as she triumphed in women's SB-LL1

Her final victory came against US rider Nicole Roundy, whose team mate Megan Harmon finished in third.

Mike Shea did one better than his United States compatriots in the men's SB-LL2 as he skied himself onto the top of the podium, taking the win from fastest qualifier, Finland's Matti Suur-Hamari.

New Zealand's Carl Murphy made it into the World Cup top three for the first time this season in third.

The men's upper-limb impairment race brought another gold medal for Great Britain's Ben Moore as he beat Austria's Patrick Mayrhofer and Italy's Roberto Cavicchi.

The competition in Canada continues on Monday (January 19) with banked slalom races.

It will be athletes' last chance to test out the new format before heading to La Molina for the 2015 IPC Para-Snowboard World Championships from 23 to 28 February.
