FINA has confirmed the calendar for the 2015 Swimming World Cup ©FINAThe International Swimming Federation (FINA) has confirmed its calendar for the 2015 Swimming World Cup series.

Beginning just two days after the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, the series will be held across eight countries in three clusters.

Beginning in Moscow on August 11 and 12, this year's series holds a prize pool of $2 million (£1.32 million/€1.69 million) across the eight meets, a sum which is hoped will tempt the world's best swimmers to take to the 25 metre pool.

After Moscow the World Cup travels to France for the brand new leg in Chartres-Paris from August 15 and 16, rounding off the first of three clusters in the series.

Cluster two opens in Hong Kong on September 25 and 26 before travelling to Beijing from 29 and 30 and Singapore from October 3 and 4.

The third and final cluster begins in Tokyo on October 28 and 29 before moving to Doha on November 2 and 3 and then visiting Dubai from November 6 and 7.

The Asian heavy programme is similar to the 2014 version, with the French leg replacing last year's event in Eindhoven.

"The 2015 edition of this World Cup has definitively a very attractive calendar, and will be attended by our best swimmers," said FINA President Dr Julio C Maglione.

"Everything will be put in place to ensure great excitement and superb performances during this circuit, which became an important reference in the international swimming calendar."

Hungary's Katinka Hosszu and South Africa's Chad Le Clos collected the overall titles for women and men in last year's World Cup.

Just weeks after securing the overall crowns, both athletes were named FINA Swimmer of the Year.

The swimming year is set to culminate with the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, from July 24 until August 9.
