A promotional video has been released ahead of the IBSA World Games in Seoul ©IBSAA special launch video has been released for the International Blind Sport Federation (IBSA) World Games in Seoul.

The video, shown below, is designed to highlight the event set to take place from May 8 to 18, featuring clips and images of many of the sports on the programme, including athletics and swimming.

This comes as entry forms for the fifth edition of the quadrennial event, first held in Madrid in 1998, are undergoing final review before being sent out to all IBSA members countries over the next few days.

Organisers have also reminded member organisations that their athletes must be registered on the IBSA Sports Administration System in order to be eligible to compete, with more information available here.

The World Games will feature around 1,000 blind and partially sighted athletes competing in ten disciplines: athletics, swimming, judo, goalball, blind football, partially sighted football, ten-pin bowling, showdown, powerlifting and chess.

Following the inaugural edition in the Spanish capital, other editions of the Games were held in Quebec in 2003, São Paulo in 2007 and Antalya in 2011.

This year's event will offer a major test for the world's top visually impaired athletes as many of them build towards next year's Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.

In recent weeks, a logo has been launched in a special ceremony in South Korea, while three mascots - a haechi, an otter and an eagle-owl  - have also been revealed.
