The logo has been revealed for the 2015 IBSA World Games in Seoul ©IBSAThe logo for the 2015 International Blind Sport Federation (IBSA) World Games in Seoul has been revealed by the South Korean organisers.

The revelation of the new logo coincided with a special launch ceremony at the Seoul City Club in Yeouido, where actor Kim Bo-sung and actress Ku Hye-sun were appointed goodwill ambassadors for the Games.

The logo pictures an athlete made up of braille dots, a key method of communication for people with a visual impairment, with a star above his head which is said to represent hope.

The logo is made up of five colours, purple, yellow, green and blue, with each colour conveying holding a set significance.

The purple stands for love and enthusiasm; yellow, hope for the future and positive spirit; green, peace and vitality; and blue trust and belief of the athletes.

Alongside the logo, the Organising Committee announced the slogan for the Games, 'See with Passion, Run with Hope!', which signifies encouragement to see and feel a bigger world and run towards a hopeful future with passion beyond visual impairment, they revealed.

The mascots for Seoul 2015 are three characters: Haechi is the official mascot of Seoul, the host city.

The other two, the otter and eagle-owl, are endangered native animals that reflect the geographical characteristics of Seoul and stand for minorities which are to be conserved, as a metaphor for persons with disabilities in general and, more specifically, people with a visual impairment.

The World Games will feature around 1,000 blind and partially sighted athletes competing in ten disciplines - athletics, swimming, judo, goalball, blind football, partially sighted football, ten-pin bowling, showdown, powerlifting and chess - and is due to be held in the South Korean capital from May 8 until 18.
