Toronto 2015 is welcoming applications for the Toronto 2015 Young Reporters Programme ©Toronto 2015Applications are being welcomed for the Toronto 2015 Young Reporters Programme, a sport management and journalism training initiative to be held during next summer's Pan American Games.

The programme is open to one sport management or journalism student from each of the 41 countries and territories of the Americas participating in the Pan American Games.

It will run from July 9 to 20 in conjunction with the Games in the Canadian city.

Beginning in April 2015, selected candidates will be required to attend live monthly webinars and complete assignments in the lead up to the 2015 Pan American Games.

After arriving in Toronto, young reporters will engage in two days of interactive training, lectures and networking opportunities with Games officials and other sport professionals.

Participants will then serve as members of the press operations team in various roles throughout the Games.

All young reporters will reside together in dormitory-style housing at Ryerson University in downtown Toronto.

Experienced journalists and sport management professionals will serve as mentors for the duration of the programme.

It is open to qualified candidates between the ages of 20 and 25 with those interested able to apply through Toronto 2015 until January 9, 2015.

Interested candidates must contact their National Olympic Committees for information prior to submitting their applications to Toronto 2015.

Once applications have been received Toronto 2015 will submit a shortlist of candidates to each particular National Olympic Committee who will then make the final decision on who to send to the programme.
