The Canadian Paralympic Committee is calling for volunteers to join its Operations Mission Staff team for the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games ©CPCThe Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) is building its operations mission staff team for Toronto 2015 and Rio 2016.

The team is comprised of professionals who volunteer their time and talent to assist athletes in the achievement of their performance goals during two of the most important events on the international competition calendar.

Pre-Games duties, from August 2014 to July 2015 for the Parapan American Games and September 2015 to August 2016 for the Paralympic Games, include conference calls and remote work in conjunction with the CPC.

Volunteers, who will report to the host nation's Chef de Mission Elisabeth Walker-Young, will also be expected to attend the Games Orientation Seminar and a selection of sport team visits, and provide support at preparation events.

During the Games, provisionally from July 25 to August 18 in Toronto and August 25 to September 21 in Rio, volunteers will undertake full-time duties and be required to be on site at least one day prior to the opening of the Athletes' Village and remain on site until it closes.

Post-Games duties, which are provisionally required to be carried out up to six weeks after both events, include providing support at athlete homecoming events, post-Games celebrations and debrief sessions, and compiling follow up reports.

Roles are available for all within administration, operation and hospitality services, however, applications for athlete and coach services roles will only be accepted from current or former athletes or coaches.

Administrative staff will be primarily focused on supporting the administrative needs of the Team Canada operations office and Team Canada performance centre(s) at the Games, while operations staff will be tasked with providing logistical and administrative support for the Canadian team leading in to, during and after the Games.

Hospitality staff will provide support for the CPC's Partnerships team, and their hosting and special events needs during the Games.

The athlete services officer(s) and coach services officer(s) act as the athletes' and coaches' first point of contact within the mission team and are additionally responsible for administrative and logistical support for Team Canada.
