Swim Smooth, recognised for its individualised approach to maximising athletes' swimming performance, will contribute its written, video and presentation materials for ITU's sport development coaching courses.

"The opportunity to have Swim Smooth's expert knowledge taught to triathlon coaches is invaluable to our global coaching development education goals," said ITU President and International Olympic Committee member Marisol Casado.

"The resources offer insight on both training and technique, providing information to coaches instructing athletes of all abilities."

While Swim Smooth director Adam Young recently delivered the swim session at the pilot course in Bucharest, ITU facilitators will also be equipped to deliver future swim sessions using Swim Smooth's online portal Moodle.

"Swim Smooth are very honoured and privileged to now be working with the ITU as part of their coach education team," said Young following the pilot course in the Romanian capital.

"ITU coaches around the world will now be trained using our materials, coaching system and coaching tools to deliver the best quality coaching for triathlon swimming.

"Having run the first level one course in Bucharest recently, I am very impressed by the experience, knowledge and passion of the whole ITU team, and I encourage any developing coach considering ITU qualifications to not hesitate in getting started."

The Swim Smooth Facilitator Education course, which will be geared towards level two coaches, is set to begin in February.

Paul Newsome, director and head coach of Swim Smooth, added: "We'd like to say a big thank you to the ITU for selecting us as their swim coaching provider.

"We're thrilled that even more coaches around the world will now have access to our comprehensive coaching system and be taught a balanced all-round approach to technique, training and open-water skills for swimming.

"As always, we will be encouraging coaches to use an individual approach with each of their athletes, taking account of their build, background and swimming experience to address what is truly holding them back in the water."
