Oleg Verniaiev has retained his Glasgow World Cup Gymnastics all-around title with an outstanding performance ©British Gymnastics/FacebookUkraine's Oleg Verniaiev and Romanian Larisa Iordache have retained their Glasgow World Cup Gymnastics all-around titles with near faultless performances at the Scottish city's Emirates Arena.

A capacity crowd watched on as reigning parallel bars world and European champion Verniaiev dominated the field in the floor, pommel horse, vault, horizontal bar and high bar to secure 91.598 points for the gold medal.

"Once I got through my floor routine I gained confidence," he said.

"Everything from then on was no problem and I got more and more comfortable.

"After winning Stuttgart and Glasgow I will try to go to the final event in this World Cup series in America next year and win that too - who knows."

The men's all-around silver medal went to Japan's world bronze medallist Yusuke Tanaka thanks to his score of 89.865, while United States Olympian John Orozco took the bronze with 86.865 points.

In the women's competition, world all-around silver medallist Iordache scored a podium topping 59.232 points with her routines on the vault, bars, beam and floor.

"I'm very happy to have won my title again in Glasgow," she said.

"After competing in Stuttgart last week I was a little tired so am happy to have done another good competition and now I can have a rest and look forward to Christmas."

Ellie Black of Canada clinched the silver medal with 56.432 points and the bronze went to Jessica López of Venezuela with 55.899 points.
