The Jeju Judo Grand Prix is due to get underway tomorrow ©IJFCompetitors from across the globe have made the trip to South Korea's Jeju City as they prepare for the final Judo Grand Prix of the season.

A total of 282 athletes from 42 countries will compete at the three-day event, as they look to secure vital Olympic ranking points en route to the Rio 2016.

Olympic, world and Asian Games champion Kim Jae-Bum will lead the host's 56-strong contingent, which will be hoping get the home support well and truly behind them inside the Jeju Halla Sport Complex, which earlier this month staged the Women's World Boxing Championships.

He will be joined by Olympic silver medallist and double world champion Wang Ki-Chun, who makes the move up to the under 81 kilogram category following his hugely successful career at under 73kg.

South Korea's new generation of judoka will also be aiming to kickstart their senior exploits on home soil as junior world champion An Changrim sees action at under 73kg, while 2013 junior world champion An Baul battles in the under 66kg category.

International stars of the World Judo Tour will be out in force as they battle for supremacy in just the second ever edition of the Jeju Grand Prix.

Olympic champion and seven-time senior world champion Teddy Riner of France is joined by America's Olympic champion Kayla Harrison and Greek world champion Ilias Iliadis as three judo heroes present in Jeju.

Riner is in action for the first time since securing his seventh world title in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and will be the man to beat in the over 100kg.

Iliadis is the leading attraction in the under 90kg category, while home favourite Kim tops the bill in the under 81kg.

Harrison will be looking to regain her position atop the women's under 78kg rankings following her bronze at the recent World Championships and a disappointing fifth at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam.

Her category is one of the most hotly contested of the competition with French world silver medallist Audrey Tcheumeo, German Abu Dhabi Grand Slam winner Luise Malzahn and Ukrainian Abu Dhabi silver medallist Victoriia Turks also in action.

French world champion Clarisse Agbegnenou leads the field at under 63kg as she looks to build on her victories at the World Championships, European Championships, Paris Grand Slam and Havana Grand Prix.

Germany's Abu Dhabi Grand Slam bronze medallist Martyna Trajdos will likely be her biggest rival in the weight category.

Great Britain's Glasgow European Open winner Sally Conway, Israel's Tallinn European Open bronze medallist Lior Wildikan and Morocco's Qingdao Grand Prix silver medallist Assmaa Niang will be the German's most likely competitors.

France looks to be one of the strongest forces in Jeju with world bronze medallist Emilie Andeol joining team mates Riner, Agbegnenou and Tcheumeo as favourites to top their respective categories.

Andeol has won European individual and team gold, along with World Team gold, this year and will be tipped to win her first International Judo Federation gold medal of the year

Commonwealth Games winner Sarah Adlington of Great Britain, Germany's Abu Dhabi Grand Slam silver medallist Franziska konitz and Tashkent Grand Prix silver medallist Iryna Kindzerska of Ukraine will all be expected to mount a medal challenge in this highly competitive over 78kg category.

Action is due to get underway in Jeju, a city quickly becoming a haven for international sporting events, tomorrow where the women's under 48, 25 and 48kg categories will take to the tatami, alongside the men's under 60 and 66kg contests.
