The Albanian National Olympic Committee has launched a nine-month volunteering project in collaboration with members of the French Association of National Olympic Committees.
The ambitious project, held in the Albanian capital Tirana, aims to promote Olympic values in schools, develop formations for athletes and coaches in accordance with the Olympic Solidarity Commission, and aid the cooperation between the Albanian federations and foreign federations.
"These exciting missions will be accomplished thanks to my co-workers at the Albanian National Olympic Committee, who gave me a warm and enthusiastic welcome, which ten folds my motivation to fulfil my missions," said volunteer Charles Turcas, who has been chosen to contribute to the development of sport and Olympic values.
Olympic Solidarity's aim is to organise assistance for all the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), particularly those with the greatest needs, so that they can develop their own structures to favour the expansion of sport in their country.
This is achieved through world programmes, continental programmes, Olympic Games subsidies, which complement the range of programmes and offer financial support to NOCs before, during and after the Games, and complementary programmes, which extend the assistance offered by Olympic Solidarity in the framework of targeted projects.
