Hangzhou will host the 2015 IBSA Asia Pacific Goalball Championships ©Getty ImagesChinese city Hangzhou will host the 2015 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Asia Pacific Goalball Championships, following on from the success of the 2013 edition in Beijing., it has been announced.

The Championships are due take place at the Hangzhou Asian Paralympic Committee Centre of Excellence between August 5 and 13. 

"We thank China for once again offering to host these Championships and we believe that they will build on last year's success," said the IBSA in a statement.

China's women, victors at this year's Asian Para Games in Incheon, beat Japan in last year's final to avenge the defeat they suffered in the gold medal match at London 2012.

Neither team has qualified for Rio 2016 as of yet, with both failing to win a medal at this year's IBSA Goalball World Championships, but victory at the regional Championships will secure their place.

Iran are the dominant force on the men's side, having won the 2013 title and last month's Asian Para Games crown. 

China, gold medallists at Beijing 2008, will be looking to improve on their third-placed finish behind Iran and Japan at last year's Championships.
