The British Paralympic Association is the official charity of the 2015 Deloitte Ride Across Britain ©BPAThe British Paralympic Association (BPA), official charity of the 2015 Deloitte Ride Across Britain (RAB), claims participants in the fundraising challenge will be playing an important role in support of ParalympicsGB athletes at Rio 2016.

The course covers almost 1,000 miles as riders cycle for nine days, from September 5 to 13, across some of the United Kingdom's most breathtaking and iconic scenery.

A limited number of places are available for the full route, from Land's End in western Cornwall to John O'Groats in the Highland council area of Scotland, with the BPA offering at least 30 per cent off entry for "the UK's ultimate cycling challenge".

"The Ride is a crucial fundraiser for ParalympicsGB as we prepare for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games," read a statement on the BPA website, addressed to potential participants.

More than 3,000 cyclists have completed the Deloitte RAB since 2010, and more than £1.4 million ($2.2 million/€1.8 million) has been raised for the BPA.

"ParalympicsGB will always take a team to the Games with essential kit and preparations, but it's the money donated by members of the public, like you, that makes a difference," added the statement.

"It enables us to take a best prepared team of athletes who will thrive under the spotlight, give the performances of a lifetime and win medals that make the nation proud.

"The event also helps to raise public awareness of the BPA as a charity and encourages people to think differently about disability sport and disabled people."

The two entry options are a £1,000 ($1,600/€1,300) entry fee with a £1,500 ($2,400/€1,900) fundraising target, or a £500 ($800/€600) entry fee with a £2,000 ($3,100/€2,500) fundraising target.

All BPA riders will receive an exclusive BPA cycling jersey.
