Early access tickets are available until Monday October 6 ©Toronto 2015There is less than a week to go for fans to requests early access tickets for the Toronto Pan American/Parapan American Games.

The window, which is due to close at 21:00 Eastern Time on Monday (October 6), allows fans to get their hands on tickets for the hottest events at Toronto 2015 prior to the general sale in December.

Tickets start from CAD$20 (£11/$18/€14) with 75 per cent available for CAD$45 (£25/$40/€32) or under.

"The best athletes are coming and the best seats are available now - but only until Monday, October 6," said Saäd Rafi, chief executive of Toronto 2015.

"If you're not getting in your ticket requests this weekend, you may miss out when we host the world next summer."

To ensure fairness in situations where more tickets are requested than are available for an event, customer ticket requests will be placed in a lottery.

This lottery is only available during this early access period.

Tickets not snapped up during this phase will be sold on a first come, first served basis later this year.

This lottery system, which is often used at mega-events like the recent Olympic Games at Vancouver 2010 and London 2012, suppodesly ensures everyone has equal access to the most in-demand tickets.

Tickets for football at the CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium have proved most popular to date, followed closely by requests for tickets at the Opening Ceremony on July 10 and the equestrian competitions at the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park and Pan Am Cross-Country Centre in Mono.

Ticketing for Toronto 2015 is being handled by Ticketmaster.

Along with the official online ticket sales channel, customers may also request tickets by telephone toll-free within Canada and the US at 1.855.726.2015 and internationally at 1.949.333.4824.
