As part of the deal, Nar Mobile will display extensive promotion in their 140 stores across the country and eight flagship stores in Baku.

Azerbaijan's fastest-growing mobile operator will promote the inaugural European Games through their social media channels, text messaging and a number of newly-created short films to engage with the 12,000 volunteers, who will be able to keep up to date with all the latest news through the creation of an innovative mobile application.

"The Baku 2015 volunteer programme is a major opportunity for the young people in Azerbaijan to be a part of the inaugural European Games," said Simon Clegg, chief operating officer of Baku 2015.

"It is fantastic to know that we now have the full support of Nar Mobile in helping to recruit and train our volunteers.

"Their ability to connect with the young people of Azerbaijan will prove invaluable as we continue to count down the days to the European Games."

With 58 per cent of the population under the age of 34, Azerbaijan's current young generation will play an important role in shaping the country's future and benefit from the Baku 2015 legacy.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to fill vital Games-time roles that include welcoming
dignitaries and athletes, working at sporting events or providing assistance to members of the media.

Kent McNeley, chief executive of Nar Mobile, said: "The European Games will be a wonderful event and we are very proud to be supporting Baku 2015 through partnership with their volunteer programme.

"Thanks to our advanced technical capability and strong relationship with the youth of Azerbaijan, we are in a good position to assist with the development of the volunteers and ensure a positive lasting legacy for the country."

The Games are scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan's capital from June 12 to 28.
