A partnership agreement has been signed between the Japanese and Swedish Olympic Committees in Tokyo ©SOKThe Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) has announced a new partnership agreement with its Swedish counterparts during the lead-up to Tokyo 2020.

The deal was signed at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo during a frenetic day of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Tokyo Olympics, and the outlining of plans by Tokyo 2020.

The deal means both parties will actively support officials, staff, its own athletes and coaches in arranging exchange programmes and opportunities.

Both parties will exchange marketing knowledge, information and good practices, as well as promoting anti-doping activities as an obligation.

The JOC, which will support the Swedish delegation's training camp for Tokyo 2020, has already signed similar agreements with 30 other National Olympic Committees.

Present for the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) was its President, Stefan Lindenberg, Gunilla Lindberg, the SOK secretary general and member of the International Olympic Committee, and chief executive Peter Reinebo.

The JOC was represented by its President and IOC member Tsunekazu Takeda and senior Executive Board member Yasuo Saito.
