Brazil and Russia both continued their 100 per cent record across the first two rounds as they topped Pool F with 18 and 17 points respectively.

Three-time defending champions Brazil crushed the resurgent Canada to draw a halt to their recent climb up the table.

The 3-0 victory maintains Brazils prolific record of not dropping a set in the second round, with just a single dropped across the whole tournament following their 3-1 round one pool victory against Cuba.

For Canada, the result leaves them two points behind third-placed Germany with the pair set to meet on the final day of pool action tomorrow.

Germany's spot in the third round was put into question after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Russia.

Despite sitting a point behind leaders Brazil in Pool F, due to Bulgaria taking two sets off them in a 3-2 first round victory, the win over Germany ensures Russia's spot in the third round as they seek a first World Championship crown since the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

In Pool E, three wins on the bounce has ensured France's progression to the third round as they secured their third consecutive 3-1 victory in their encounter with Serbia.

Hosts Poland also recorded victory as they hold on to their second-place, however, the win will come with mixed emotions as they fall a further point within the grasp of the United States after Iran took them all the way to a five setter.

The point for Iran leaves them still in contention for a berth in the third round with just two points separating second, third and fourth.

None of the three teams will face off tomorrow, however, Poland arguably have the toughest challenge as they battle pool leaders France in their final fixture.

United States will have an easier task of progressing as they face sixth-placed Argentina, while Iran take on fifth-placed Serbia.
