Omega has extended its longstanding partnership with FINA ©OmegaThe International Swimming Federation (FINA) has announced the extension of its long-standing partnership with Swiss watch makers and timekeepers Omega.

The new agreement runs through until 2021 and will cover the next four World Championships in Kazan, Russia next year; Guadalajara, Mexico in 2017; Gwangju, South Korea in 2019; and the 2021 Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Omega has been a FINA partner since 1973 and also provides official timekeeping services at the FINA Swimming World Cup and the FINA Diving World Series as well as the FINA High Diving World Cup.

The firm has a long association with swimming dating back to the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

It is an Olympic TOP partner and has served as the official timekeeper at the last 26 Olympic Games as well as the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010 and last month's edition in Nanjing.

Omega has a number of high profile ambassadors, including Olympic gold medallists Alexander Popov, Michael Phelps and Chad le Clos.

"We are very pleased to continue this fruitful partnership with Omega," said FINA President Julio Maglione.

"Over so many years and so many competitions together, FINA and Omega have always worked hand-in-hand to provide the best possible conditions to our athletes, coaches and officials.

"We are sure that this cooperation will remain in the future for the benefit of aquatics worldwide."

As part of the agreement, Omega will work with FINA on its new General Management System.

The online system has been designed to streamline event management processes as well as FINA administrative procedures for all of the federation's main events using a specially-designed database enabling the transfer of knowledge and information to facilitate coordination between FINA and its Organising Committees.

The system will allow member federations to enter information about their athletes and team officials at any time while event organisers will also be able to manage key event operational data.

It is due to be used for the first time at the Short-course World Championships and the FINA World Aquatics Convention taking place in Doha from December 3 to 7.

"We have enjoyed a long and productive relationship with FINA and are delighted that we will continue to work with the federation well into the future," said Omega President Stephen Urquhart.

"World-class competitive swimming and diving are among the most thrilling sports and we look forward to timing and measuring the performances delivered at every FINA event."
