Rowing on day three of the World Championships on Amsterdam's Bosbaan Lake had to be suspended when wind conditions changed ©Getty ImagesIn a thrilling finish to the TA mixed double sculls repechage on the third day of racing at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, the Brazilian Para-rowing pairing of Josiane Lima and Michel Gomes Pessanha finished just a second ahead of Israel's Reuven Magnagey and Yuliya Cnernoy in a time of 4min 49.27sec, with both qualifying for the A final.


Alexey Chuvashev of Russia was fastest finisher in the repechage of the AS men's single sculls, clocking 5:48.11 on the 1000m para-rowing course to earn a place in the A final along with runner-up Luciano Luna de Oliveira of Brazil.

Qualifiers from the other repechage were Fabrizio Caselli of Italy in 5:51.75 and Steve Haxton of the United States in 5:58.38.

In the LTA mixed double sculls repechage, the French combination of Guylaine Marchand and Antoine Jesel won in 4:08.40 ahead of the German team of Anke Molkenthin and Tino Kolitscher in 4:10.15.

The United States were victorious in the LTA mixed coxed four repechage, clocking 3:52.49 as they finished well clear of South Africa in 4:07.20 and France 4:11.30.

Ukraine's Alla Lysenko won the AS women's single sculls repechage in 6:39.93 to book her place in the A final alongside runner-up Sandra Khumalo of South Africa, who clocked 6:43.92.
