Organisers of next year's International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Nordic Skiing World Championships have launched a volunteer recruitment programme ahead of the event taking place in Cable in the United States.
The volunteer programme is seeking individuals to fill key roles at the Championships and will provide them with a behind the scenes glimpse into a major international competition.
Cable 2015 has also said that depending on the length of service, volunteers can receive meals and accommodation along with complimentary merchandise as part of the programme.
Most volunteers will be provided with training prior to the Championships, due to take place from January 22 to February 1 next year.
Training sessions will likely take place in Cable during December and January, according to organisers, who have also launched a special video to attract people to sign up.
"It's very exciting to be a part of bringing such a prominent competition to northern Wisconsin," said Jane Mandli, who is a volunteer coordinator for Cable 2015.
"The quality and character of our volunteers at the World Cup events stood out in the minds of everyone who was here for those and that is part of why the World Championships are coming.
"With such a large event we really need, and will use, everyone who signs up for Cable 2015 but it is truly amazing to see the large number of volunteers already registering.
"I am very impressed with the vast experience that many of the volunteers have as well.
"This is going to be an amazing event."
Cable has hosted a number of international Nordic skiing events in recent years, including IPC World Cups in 2012 and 2013.
Next year will be the first time the IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships will have been staged in the US since Fort Kent hosted the event in 2005.
About 150 athletes from 20 countries are expected to take part in the event at the Telemark Resort, which sits along the nearly one million acre Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and boasts more than 300 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails.
Last year's Championships took place in Sollefteå, Sweden.
