The inspection is being carried out by FISU's International Technical Committee (CTI), consisting of members of the FISU Secretariat and 38 Technical Delegates, plus chairman John Warnock.

The delegation is split into three groups and has been in South Korea since Tuesday (May 28) carrying out this detailed inspection.

The visit was opened by a general introductory welcome meeting headed by the Gwangju 2015 Organising Committee before Warnock and FISU Sport Assistant Melanie Stallecker led a presentation on sports management, officially opening the sports seminar.

The seminar continued with presentations on sports and technical services including technical regulations, sports entries, sports information and results services and other key tasks needed to be addressed by organisers ahead of the Games next July.

Adam Sotiriadis, the invited seminar speaker, also gave a presentation on venue management and operation of the Sports Command Centre by using experiences from past sporting events.

The Organising Committee and FISU will be using the knowledge gained from this seminar to conduct test events, occurring this August, as well as planning a seamless 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade.

Following the seminar, one of the three inspection committee groups visited eight of the Games' sporting venues - for archery, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, athletics, fencing, shooting sport, table tennis, and tennis - meeting with officials to discuss preparations ahead of the competition.

Yesterday saw another of the groups visit six other venues, this time for badminton, diving, golf, judo, rowing, taekwondo, with these visits set to continue until Thursday (June 5).

Meanwhile, the third group will be inspecting the other six sports from Saturday (June 7) to Tuesday (June 10), whilst the final day of the visit on Wednesday (June 11) will see a closing meeting to discuss each of the sports venues as well as transportation, catering and accreditation.
