Bush will speak to some of the most powerful players in international bowling when he addresses the General Session of the International Bowl Expo here tomorrow.

The 43rd President of the US is the keynote speaker of the 2014 Expo, which kicked off on Sunday (June 22).

It is the bowling industry's premier annual convention and trade show.

A host of interactive seminars have already been held at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel - which is hosting the Expo - with tips on sales and marketing, coaching and embracing new technology all on offer.

The Expo is the first to be held since international bowling organisations united in April under one banner - World Bowling - under the leadership of President Kevin Dornberger.

It brings together the ten-pin and two nine-pine federations, as well as the umbrella organisation, the International Federation of Bowlers..

Announcing Bush, who served as President from 2001 to 2009, as speaker ahead of the Expo,The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) executive director Steve Johnson, said: "Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, President Bush is one of the most influential individuals in the world and we are delighted he will be with us in Orlando."

The General Session here tomorrow will also see the induction of the BPAA's newest Hall of Fame member through the presentation of the 2014 Victor Lerner Memorial Medal.

BPAA President Cathy DeSocio said: "President Bush brings tremendous perspective on the qualities and attributes that make a great leader and which can be applied to everyday business owners.

"Attendees at Bowl Expo 2014 will have an opportunity to gain valuable insights from a man who personifies leadership at the highest level."

The Xtreme Trade Show will be open tomorrow and Thursday (June 26), which is the final day of the Expo.

More than 300 exhibitors are due to be involved.
