Celebrations were held in the six host nations of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup to mark a year to go until the star of the tournament ©LOCTickets for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup will go on sale from September 10, it was announced today to celebrate the one year to go mark until the tournament kicks-off in Canada.

As celebrations got underway in all six host cities, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Moncton, it was confirmed the on-sale date for the first phase of tickets for the World Cup.

This initial phase of ticketing will see stadium passports go up for sale which feature tickets for every match at a particular official host city, as well as stadium half-passes for Vancouver, Edmonton and Montreal.

"We are hearing from fans coast-to-coast that want to get their tickets early, so we are pleased to announce the pricing for stadium passports in all six official host cities for the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015," said Peter Montopoli, chief executive for the National Organising Committee.

When action finally gets underway in Canada on June 6, 2015, the nation will welcome 24 of the world's best teams, including their own squad, as they battle for the top honour in women's football.

Only six teams have been confirmed their spot in the tournament so far with qualification set to continue until November 27.

Including Canada as hosts, the six teams already set to make the trip to the North American nation are China, South Korea, Japan, Australia and Thailand.

As well as a ticketing announcement, it was also confirmed the date of the draw for the tournament is due to take place inside the Museum of History in Ottawa on December 6, exactly six months from now.

Each host city also unveiled a "One Year To A Greater Goal" countdown clock in celebration of the milestone.

These clocks stand more than three metres tall and 1.2 metres wide feature the tournament's official slogan, "To a greater goal", alongside the competition logo.

"Momentum is building towards next year's FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015, incredibly now just a year away," said Victor Montagliani, chairman of the National Organising Committee.

"These countdown clocks give fans an opportunity to get engaged in this once-in-a-lifetime event for Canada."

World Cup action is due to be officially opened by the hosts as the play the first match of the event inside the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton on June 6.

Matches are due to continue until July 5 where the action culminates with the Final at BC Place stadium in Vancouver.
