Its latest deal sees it back the sport's flagship event, due to take place across Spain from August 30 to September 14.

Matches will be played in six venues during the World Cup - Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Barakaldo, Seville and Las Palmas.

The United States will be seeking to defend the title they won four years ago in Turkey, when they beat the hosts 81-64 in the final.

Hailing the deal, which was signed today with the sport's governing body and the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), FEB President Jose Luis Saez, said: "Since we began five years ago with this project [of hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup], we have had the challenge of making it an unforgettable event in the history of basketball.
