April 24 - Eurosport is inviting fans to provide their own unique commentary on a sports clip ©Bongarts/Getty Images Pan European broadcaster Eurosport is offering fans the chance to win VIP tickets to some top sports events after launching a commentator contest to mark its 25-year anniversary.

The online contest is part of the "We Live For Live" campaign to celebrate Eurosport's expertise in live broadcasting, which now encompasses more than 100 sports, since its launch in 1989.

The competition is inviting fans to choose a video clip of their choice from cycling, motorsports or tennis and provide their own commentary before sharing it on social media platforms to gain as many "likes" as possible.

The overall winner will be selected by a Eurosport panel of judges and win a VIP trip to either the Tour de France, the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) meeting at Spa, Belgium or the US Open at Flushing Meadows, New York, based on the sport used in their commentary submission.

The 2014 Tour de France will get underway in Leeds, England on July 5 and runs until July 27; the WTCC in at Spa takes place on June 21 and 22 while the US Open runs from August 25 to September 8.

Commenting on the idea behind the fan contest, Eurosport's global communications director, Heather Bowler, said: "To celebrate our quarter of a century of leadership in live sports broadcasting, what better way than to offer a unique experience to the participants - to be in the role of a sports commentator.

"Eurosport knows how to deliver the most immersive, insightful coverage and capture all the emotion to provide an unforgettable experience of each sport to the viewers.

"It will be interesting to see how all the international participants will succeed in this challenge.

"Participants will feel they are at the heart of live sports action, Eurosport's DNA.

"They are also able to share their best commentaries with their friends via social media - a fun feature of the contest."

Eurosport broadcasts across a range of channels including Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2 and their respective HD channels along with EurosportNews and regional services Eurosport France, British Eurosport and Eurosport in Asia-Pacific.

Live content is available in more than 70 countries worldwide and delivered in 20 different languages.
