German Kroeger has been the dominant sailor so far in the 2.4mR competition but had his worst day in Hyères today, registering a second and fifth place in his two races.

The Sydney 2000 gold medallist had an overnight lead of three points, but a win apiece plus two top-three finishes has France's Damien Seguin and Megan Pascoe of Britain right on his tail going into the final day of racing in the Paralympic fleets tomorrow.

The battle for medals in the Sonar class is even more intriguing, as four crews are all in contention to take the top prize.

Britain's John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Stephen Thomas began the day two points clear but have seen that reduced to the minimum after recording a fifth and a second in their races.

A fourth and a third has home trio Bruno Jourdren, Nicolas Vimont Vicary and Eric Flageul in overall second while Norway's Aleksander Wang-Hansen, Per Eugen Kristiansen and Marie Solberg followed up their two wins yesterday with another race victory to maintain their position in the bronze medal slot.

Lying a further point behind in fourth is the Australian crew of Colin Harrison, John Harris and Russell Boaden who recorded a fourth in the second race of the day after finishing behind the Dutch trio of Marcel van de Veen, Mischa Rossen and Miranda Weevers in race one.

The final medal placings in the Paralympic classes are due to be decided on the waters of the French town tomorrow.
