April 1 - Hannah Miley will be one of the stars on show at the Scottish National Open Swimming Championships this week ©Getty Images All the action from the upcoming Scottish Gas National Open Championships taking place at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre will be broadcast live on YouTube, it has been announced.

Eurosport's swimming commentator Drew Gordon will front the coverage across the four days of competition from April 3 to 6, and will be joined by former Scottish swimmers David Leith and Rob Lee, who competed at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

More than 740 athletes representing more than 90 clubs have registered to compete at the Championships, which also act as a qualification event for Glasgow 2018.

"This is going to be a world-class event and providing digital video content is a great asset to inform and entertain not only our members and shareholders, but also swimming fans across the globe ahead of a home Games in 2014," said Forbes Dunlop, chief executive of Scottish Swimming.

Leading the list of entries will be Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson who will be vying to secure his spot on the Scottish team for this year's Games, which will also be staged at the Tollcross Centre.

World and European short course champion Hannah Miley will be in action as she looks to claim a place in Glasgow and defend her 400 metres individual medley crown from Delhi 2010.

Olympians Robbie Renwick, Caitlin McClatchey and Craig Benson will also be competing with three Team Scotland places per event up for grabs.

"There are a lot of us in the mix for only three Team Scotland places," said 19-year-old Benson, who will be competing in the breaststroke events.

"It's no longer about the qualifying time either as many of us are already under it so know that's achievable, for me it is now about the race itself and finishing in the top three.

"My race strategy needs to be just right.

"This is going to be a taster event for all the athletes too so I would want as many people as we can to come along and support us at what is our biggest event of the year out with the summer Games themselves.

"That extra bit of support can provide those extra 0.10 seconds needed to make the team."

The four-day event is due to underway on Thursday (April 3) and for more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

The Championships will be broadcast on Scottish Swimming's YouTube channel as well as on the governing body's website.
