The American had to battle from a set down to defeat Australia's Dylan Alcott in the final of this ITF Series 2 competition and continue his 100 per cent record for the 2014 season.

Top seed Wagner edged out Alcott in three sets in their first ever clash in the round-robin phase of the first Grand Slam of the year in Melbourne in January, after also going a set down, and the American again held off a strong challenge from the world number 10 to clinch the Desert Classic title 3-6 6-0 6-4.

Despite his loss in the quad singles final, Alcott was able to recover to claim victory in the quad doubles alongside American partner David Buck against the all-American duo of Fred Amaya and Shoeb Khan.

Alcott and Buck had already beaten Wagner and his Indian partner Harry Boniface Prabhu in the round-robin stage and continued their fine run of form to overcome Amaya and Khan 6-0 6-0.

The men's doubles final saw Australia's Adam Kellerman and Ben Weekes topple Takuya Miki of Japan and Britain's Marc McCarroll with a comprehensive 6-4 6-3 victory.

Both Kellerman and Weekes had lost at the hands of their opponents in separate singles contests earlier in the day but proved too hot to handle in the all important doubles final.

The women's doubles title was picked up by Britain's Louise Hunt and Germany's Katharina Kruger after they won their second round-robin fixture against Japan's Miho Nijo and Denmark's Louise Willersley-Olsen 6-1 6-1.

Action continues at the Desert Classic tomorrow with both the men's and women's singles finals.
