February 21 - EventScotland has been announced as a Silver Partner for the 12th SportAccord International Convention taking place in Belek/Antalya, Turkey, from April 6 to 11.
The announcement represents a fifth successive year that EventScotland will act as a Silver Partner for the Convention, which will see representatives from more than 100 international sports federations, sponsors, host and bid cities, architects, sports lawyers, broadcasters and organising committees gather at the Susesi Convention Centre.
"EventScotland are a great partner to work with, always fully immersing themselves in the Convention and the various networking opportunities," said Nis Hatt, managing director of SportAccord Convention.
"They never fail to deliver an engaging exhibition stand that provides our delegates with a real taste of what Scotland has to offer.
"This year I'm sure will be no exception."
Scotland is set to host a number of high profile international sporting events in 2014 and 2015 and EventScotland has been played a key role in helping secure these events.
Later this year Glasgow will host the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which will be followed by the staging of the Ryder Cup in September at Gleneagles.
In addition, St Andrews will host the 2015 Open Championship with the Women's British Open taking place at Turnberry, while the 2016 Open Championship is set for Royal Troon.
Scotland will also welcome the sporting world in 2015 as it will host the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Swimming World Championships - both in Glasgow - while the World Orienteering Championships are set to take place in Inverness.
The European Judo Championships will also be hosted by Glasgow in 2015 while Blair Castle in Perthshire will be the setting for the 2015 European Eventing Championships.
"SportAccord Convention provides us with an unrivalled platform to engage with our global event partners, and our partnership is hugely valuable to us," said Paul Bush, chief operating officer for EventScotland.
"After our major events in 2014, Scotland will host three World and two European Championships next year and we are looking forward to discussing our future aspirations with colleagues at the Convention in April."
