The 2014 ITTF World Tour will be broadcast live throughout Europe on Eurosport ©ITTFFebruary 11 - The 2014 Table Tennis World Tour will be broadcast live throughout Europe on Eurosport, the sport's world governing body announced today.

As part of a deal with International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) marketing partner TMS International, Eurosport will provide coverage of the six World Tour Super Series events and the $1 million (£600,000/€740,000) World Tour Grand Finals - featuring the likes of Olympic and world champion Zhang Jike of China and Germany's Timo Boll - to 131 million households in 54 countries.

"This is a fantastic boost for European table tennis," Anders Thunström, managing director of TMS International, said.

"Eurosport is the biggest sports channel in Europe, so getting our top World Tour events on their channel will increase our visibility in Europe dramatically."

The first live event on Eurosport will be the Kuwait Open finals on February 16, while the last two days of the Qatar Open will be shown on Eurosport 2 on February 22 and 23.

The German Open is the next to be broadcast on March 28 until 30, followed by the China Open - the date of which has yet to be confirmed - the Korea Open on June 13 to 15 and the Japan Open on June 20 until 22, before the season culminates with the World Tour Grand Finals, of which the host has yet to be revealed.

The 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships will also be broadcast on Eurosport when it is due to take place in Tokyo on April 28 to May 5.
