The deal will see Allstream provide services to connect the Toronto 2015 Organising Committee, athletes, officials, volunteers and broadcasters at the Games with advanced telecommunication tools allowing them to collaborate and share information.

The XVII Pan Amercian Games will be the third time the event has been hosted in Canada, following on from Winnipeg in 1967 and 1999.

In 1999, Allstream's parent company, Manitoba Telecom Services Inc, was a corporate sponsor of the Games.

The first Parapan American Games were held in Mexico City in 1999.

"We're pleased to welcome Allstream to the Toronto 2015 family and look forward to working with them to help deliver a fantastic Games experience for our athletes, communities and guests," said recently appointed chief executive officer of Toronto 2015, Saäd Rafi.

The Toronto 2015 Pan American Games are due to run from July 10 to 26 with the Parapan American Games scheduled for August 7 until 14.
