January 28 - The IABA has announced that O'Neills will be official kit suppliers for next three years ©AFP/Getty ImagesO'Neills Irish International Sportswear Company has signed a new three-year deal to become the official kit supplier to the Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA).


The new deal commences this month and runs until January 2017 and sees the firm continue its long association with Irish boxing.

O'Neills was the official kit supplier to the Irish squad at last year's International Boxing Association (AIBA) Men's World Championships in Almaty.

'We are delighted to continue our excellent relationship with O'Neills," said recently appointed IABA chief executive officer Fergal Carruth, a former Irish boxing champion and brother of Barcelona 1992 gold medal winner, Michael Carruth.

"O'Neills have been fantastic suppliers and friends to the IABA for many years and their support has played a significant role in the success of our boxers both at home and abroad.

"We look forward to working closely with O'Neills to ensure continued success in the years to come."

Founded in 1918, O'Neills is the largest sportswear and equipment company in Ireland and has production plants in Dublin and in Strabane, County Fermanagh.

The firm is synonymous with Gaelic games in Ireland and supplies team kits to most of the hurling and football clubs and counties.

O'Neills was the official kit supplier to the Irish Paralympic team at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

It also has a strong background in rugby and supplied the official kit to the Ireland team for a number of years in the 1980s and was also the kit supplier to Romania at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

It is currently the official kit supplier to Aviva Premiership side Harlequins and rugby league Superleague outfit Widnes Vikings.
