The European Olympic Committees today launched its re-structured website to allow for easier communication with is member NOCs ©EOCJanuary 27 - The European Olympic Committees (EOC) has today completed the re-structuring of its new website, making it easier to communicate with its 49 National Olympic Committee (NOC) members and giving it a platform for its Olympic vision.

In its effort to put in place programmes and activities geared to the needs of its NOCs, the EOC's new website also includes an intranet enabling its members to download important documents and carry out online accreditation for all EOC meetings.

"The EOC's updated digital platforms are part of our wider vision to constantly improve how we support our NOCs," said EOC President and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board member Patrick Hickey.

"The new website and social media account will significantly enhance our communications around some of our vision's key components, such as the European Games.

"At our recent Executive Committee meeting, the EOC agreed on a proposal to redistribute revenues from the inaugural European Games in Baku to our NOCs and European Federations.

"I am very proud that we are able to support our NOCs so well at the start of 2014 and I am looking forward to seeing their athletes compete at the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in Sochi."

Coinciding with the new website, the EOC has also launched its new twitter handle - @EOCMedia - allowing for up-to-date news and information from the website to be instantly available to the wider public, as well as news from the Olympic Movement as a whole.

"Our new website and Twitter account are now fully operational and we are very happy with these upgrades to our online presence," said EOC secretary general Raffaele Pagnozzi.

"These platforms are often the first contact point for our NOCs and the media.

"These stakeholders want to engage with us in a simple and appealing way.

"Now they can do that more easily than ever."

The new website will be operated entirely in-house by EOC staff at its headquarters in Rome.

The website incorporates buttons for the EOC's flagship event, the European Games - being held in Baku, Azerbaijan next year - the European Youth Olympic Festival and the Games of the Small States of Europe.
