With discussions "well advanced", the location is set to be finalised before the 2014 convention, due to take place in Belek, located in Turkey's Antalya Province on the Mediterranean, between April 6 and 11.

A SportAccord Convention spokesperson told insidethegames that they could not yet reveal the names of the cities interested in hosting the 2015 event, but they do expect to make an announcement within the next couple of months.

SportAccord Convention President Marius Vizer said he was pleased by the "enthusiasm expressed by potential host cities for 2015".

"After more than a decade of growth, SportAccord Convention has become unquestionably the pre-eminent annual meeting for the world of sports, and we will continue to build on its resounding success in cities around the world," he added.

"Our foundation stakeholders are unified in their support by enabling SportAccord Convention to develop in a viable and sustainable way to become ever more valuable in future years as an annual event at the service of the Olympic Movement, International Federations and its commercial partners."
