As part of Sport 2000 International, Sport Depot is the largest chain of sporting goods stores in Bulgaria having been founded in 1998.

Its first Bulgarian store was built in 2004 in the town of Varna and has since seen the construction of 15 others in cities across the country.

As well as Romania and Bulgaria, Sport 2000 International operates in around 25 countries across the world and boasts one of the largest sport networks in Europe.

Sport Depot's new partnership with Speedo will begin in January 2014.

"It's a great honour for Sport Depot to be selected as the new distributor of Speedo for Bulgaria and Romania," said Krasimir Tzonov, chief executive of Sport Depot.

"Speedo is the most recognisable global brand in Sports Depot's portfolio, and we are focused on building Speedo as a number one swimming brand in the region.

"We have very clear plans for growth and are working on a number of initiatives such as Learn to Swim and developing our partnership with the Lifeguard Organization of the Bulgarian Red Cross."
