November 21 - Univision will broadcast all of the USA Knockouts matches in this season's World Series of Boxing © UnivisionThe USA Knockouts franchise has announced that all of its bouts in this season's World Series of Boxing (WSB) will be broadcast in the United States by media firm Univision, which services the large Hispanic audience in the country.

With boxers from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Venezuela along with home-grown fighters in the 37-man USA squad, the new deal hopes to capitalise on the interest in boxing that exists amongst the Hispanic community in the United States.

"With franchises in the USA, Cuba, Mexico and Argentina, this region is key for the WSB and we know that many other nations are interested in joining", said Karim Bouzidi, the WSB chief executive.

"This is why we are extremely proud to welcome Univision as official host broadcaster of the USA Knockouts.

"I see an exciting and bright future for the franchise, thanks to the full support of USA Boxing, its new President and AIBA executive committee member, Dr Charles Butler and Anthony Bartkowski, executive director of USA Boxing and general manager of the USA Knockouts."

Now in its fourth year, the WSB, which is governed by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) was introduced in 2010 to give Olympic boxers the opportunity to take part in professional bouts.

This year's 12-team competition sees the USA competing in a group alongside Team Germany, Ukraine Otamans, Dolce and Gabbana Italia Thunder, Argentina Condors and the Algeria Desert Hawks.

The Knockouts began their campaign away in Ukraine but it was a disappointing start for the American side who went down 4-1 at the Sports Palace in Kyiv.
